PAGEANT OF IMMORTALS
游神
This illustration is inspired by the “Pageant of Immortals," a significant religious event in my hometown Fujian. Beyond its rich folklore and striking visual effects, I aim to depict humanity's inherent connection to supernatural and absolute powers. These few hours dissolve social hierarchies, and all man equally becomes a humble supplicant, seeking blessings from the gods.
这件插画作品取材于福建代表性的宗教活动“游神”。在活动自身具有的强烈民俗属性和怪诞魔幻的视觉效果之外，我更希望表现出人类天然对于超自然力量和绝对权力的归属——在这短短几小时的盛会中，权势和阶级的区别不再存在，所有人不过都是俯首期拜神灵降福的众生。
在进行创作时我参照了中国传统绘画中的等级制，即不拘束于透视原理，而以身份高低安排人物体量大小。
