SELLING GODS
This animation project visualizes the phenomenon of Religious Commercialization from various perspectives. In addition to outlining the benefits and drawbacks of this spiritual materializaiton, I aim to encourage the audiences to further consider the religious peace and pluralism in a worldwide scale as well.
这组动画项目对于宗教商品化的表现和影响进行了可视化和一定的探讨。除了对其利弊进行概述之外,我也希望能引发观众对于当下社会宗教和平与多元的深层思考。
Drawing inspiration from religious practices in Fujian, I created this loop using puppets and stop-motion animation. It explores the free will and diverse choices believers have in selecting their own faith.

Grabbing god-idols and collecting treasures—this approach of treating religion as a secular commodity inevitably assigns a utilitarian value to religious activities. What is it that we truly seek deep in our hearts when we enter the gates of a temple with reverence and awe?
抓起的是神像,落下的是财宝——将宗教视作世俗商品的心态也不可避免地为宗教活动附带上功利价值。在我们怀着崇敬与畏惧迈入寺庙大门时,内心深处又在渴求什么呢?
The pluralism gives religions a chance to compete and serves as the cornerstone of a thriving market.
